One can see the Raffeix map was created in or after 1682 because there is a reference to LaSalle's 1682 famous Mississippi navigation in letter D.

In 1681, a year earlier, a spurious Marquette Narrative and incorrectly attributed Map were published in Thevenot's short anthology of travel narratives from around the world.
